Sometimes a really great commercial makes me forget that I’m being sold to altogether.

This is beautiful. We’re sold.

Someone asked for more summer song recommendations.  Here’s part of my park-time playlist - lots of good stuff.

So. For all y’all that have not seen or just choose to not watch Party Down, here’s a tip: PLEASE DO. If only because not enough people are and if it does not get picked up for a third season (with or without our beloved Adam Scott) I will cry. The show does not have the quick wit and laugh after laugh factor of say, The Office or Arrested Development but it is a slow simmer or as Marquette says, it marinates-and very well. Although our woman for all seasons, Jane Lynch, was replaced by Jennifer Coolidge then she was replaced by Meghan Mullally, it just keeps getting better and better. It’s full of sexual tension-induced banter, alcoholics, Hollywood disillusionment, and the guest stars are always priceless. There isn’t anything shoved down your throat and the characters are hilarious, well-developed, and just spot on. Anyhow, the show is on Starz at 10pm on Fridays so just see for yourself. If you need to recap, you can always peruse through these.

“When the mystery of the connection goes, love goes. It’s that simple. This suggests that it isn’t love that is so important to us but the mystery itself. The love connection may be merely a device to put us in contact with the mystery, and we long for love to last so that the ecstacy of being near the mystery will last. It is contrary to the nature of mystery to stand still. Yet it’s always there, somewhere, a world on the other side of the mirror (or the Camel pack), a promise in the next pair of eyes that smile at us. We glimpse it when we stand still. The romance of new love, the romance of solitude, the romance of objecthood, the romance of ancient pyramids and distant stars are means of making contact with the mystery. When it comes to perpetuating it, however, I got no advice. But I can and will remind you of two of the most important facts I know: 1. Everything is part of it. 2. It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.”

Ed Hardy Condoms Bring Rise to Important Questions Regarding the Etymology of "Douchebag"

Why, exactly, is there an Ed Hardy condom?

The Hills Recap.

Now, I don’t watch The Hills on the reg but like most pop culturally saavy folk I tend to know more than I would like to admit about the cast and their (un)scripted weekly dramafests. So even if you don’t watch or don’t know the latest mental condition of Speidi, you should read Emma Rosemblum’s weekly recaps because well, they crack me up.

                                        an ode to x deronde

wake up in the morning feeling like xander paul

gonna find the hottest bitches living at the jersey shore
and take all of their pictures cause i’m a camera whore

i’m talking body paint on our toes toes
                        going to fashion shows shows
                        annalisa rose rose
now now i’m heading into the city
                        with all of my biddies
                        tryna get fucking shitty

                        don’t stop!
xander paul taking pictures in the graveyard at night
wire rings, black lace sleeves, awesome life
he’s hot, he fucking rocks, secretly i want his cock-
                        oh no! woaaaaah!

Soooo (Inland Empire) + (Mulholland Drive) + (Orson Welles allusion) - (Badalmenti)= David Lynch’s new short film commercial for a Dior Handbag. I’ll take what I can get from him but the biggest surprise out of Lynch this time around: there is not a single Douglas Fur present!
